Lecture on Kashmir Shaivism by Swami Bodhananda on Sunday, July 26, 2015, from 5-8 pm, at the Sambodh Center
6363 North 24th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49004

Kashmir Shaivism is an extremely powerful and philosophically complex system of spiritual vision and practice.
The inseparable blissful union of Shiva and Shakti is presented as the ultimate sovereign reality and the ground and substance of the phenomenal universe. The individual seeker's goal is to realize oneness with Shiva and Shakti.

The Shiva Sutras prescribe three methods to achieve this oneness:

Shambavopaya, the path of grace;

Shaktopaya, the path of awakening; and,

Anavopaya, the path of devotional love.

These paths are also known as saktipatkundalini jagaranand kriya yoga.
Veiled Shiva is Nara and unveiled Nara is Shiva.
Mayashakti mediates this process of veiling and unveiling.
Swami Bodhananda walks the seeker through the labyrinth of Kashmir Shaivism
to the core of human reality which is sovereign-consciousness-bliss.

                                           Mantra mulam-gurorvakyam/ Moksha-mulam-gurorkripa//

Guru's form is the sole object of our meditation;Guru's feet are the sole object of our worship;
Guru's words are the sole source of our mantras; and,Guru's glance is the sole means of our liberation.

Vedanta is revealed wisdom coming from Dakshinamurti, the first incarnate Guru, through an unbroken teaching tradition of Gurus and disciples down to our present Guru. Sage Yagnavalkya, Sri Veda Vyasa and Srimad Sankaracharya are the most important links in this tradition. Vedanta students worship Vyasa as the pivot of Vedanta teaching and dedicate His birth day as the day of Guru.
Vyasa's birthday falls on July 31, 2015.

Sambodh Family will gather at Sambodh Center on this day in honor of the tradition of all gurus and to offer their worshipful prayers at the feet of their Guru and our Guru
